Pulmonary-renal syndrome is the occurrence of diffuse alveolar hemorrhage and glomerulonephritis, often simultaneously. The cause is almost always an autoimmune disorder. Diagnosis is based on serologic tests and sometimes lung and kidney biopsies. The typical treatment is carried out with immunosuppression with corticosteroids and cytotoxic drugs.

El síndrome pulmonar-renal es la aparición de hemorragia alveolar difusa y glomerulonefritis, a menudo en forma simultánea. Casi siempre la causa es un trastorno autoinmunitario. El diagnóstico se basa en las pruebas serológicas y a veces las biopsias pulmonar y renal. El tratamiento típico se realiza con inmunosupresión con corticoides y fármacos citotóxicos.

La infección reside en los tejidos sinoviales o periarticulares y suele ser bacteriana - en adultos jóvenes con frecuencia Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Sin embargo, también pueden ocurrir infecciones bacterianas no gonocócicas que pueden destruir rápidamente las estructuras articulares. Los síntomas incluyen dolor de aparición súbita, derrame, y restricción del rango de movimiento activo y pasivo, por lo general en una sola articulación. El diagnóstico requiere el análisis y cultivo del líquido sinovial. El tratamiento se realiza con antibióticos por vía IV y drenaje de pus de las articulaciones.
